31st Askeer Award for Theatre Performance

Yavor Gurdev's play "The Tail", based on the text of Zahari Karabashliev, won the grand prize of the "Askeer" Theater Awards for 2022. The prize for director went to Diana Dobreva of „The Silk“. Malin Krastev and Maria Kavardzhikova were awarded as the best actors in leading roles for their participation in the performance  for "A Piece of Spain Music“. In the contemporary drama category, "Askeer" took Alexander Sekulov for "The People of Vazov". Tsvetana Maneva received the Grand Prize for overall contribution to theater art "Askeer 2022". An honorary "Askeer" was also awarded to the actress Meglena Karalambova. "Askeer" awards were also received by the association "Sumatoha" - in the "Rising Star" category for "Despite Life, Everything is Love", Lily Shomova - in the category for supporting female role in "Miss Julia".

In the supporting male role category, Julian Vergov was awarded for "The People of Vazov", which is based on the original writing of Alexander Sekulov. Mira Kalanova received a statuette in the "Scenography" category for "The Silk", and Marina Raichinova – for the category "Costume Design", again for "The Silk". Nikolay Ivanov was awarded in the category "Theatrical music" for "Shakhname: Tale of the Hall".  "Live" - ​​Alexandra Sarchadzhieva's mono drama, based on the text of Yana Borisova and directed by Dimitar Kotsev-Shoshov, won a statuette for "Mono Spectacle".

The ceremony was hosted by the A'Askeer Foundation and the Bulgarian Army Theater. Also this event was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Defense. The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture Yuriy Valkovski and the Deputy Minister of Defense Yordan Bozhilov.
