[Waterfall] Skakavitsa

SKAKAVITSA WATERFALL (70 m) is the highest waterfall in Rila mountain and one of the most beautiful one in Bulgaria. There are beautiful meadows around the waterfall, from which a wonderful view of the natural phenomenon opens. It is easily accessible and very pleasant in all seasons. In winter the waterfall freezes completely and competitions for ice climbing competitions are held there.

Distance: 12 kilometers from the town of Sapareva, it will take 2.5 hours by walking. It will take 30 minutes by walking from the Hut Skakavitsa, for which you can start from the city Panichishte. The trail starts from the starting station of the lift for the "Seven Rila Lakes". The whole walk from Panichishte to the waterfall and back will take 3-4 hours on leisurely walking.
