Frosch String Quartet was founded in 2007 in Sofia. The Quartet began its concert activitiesy with an annual participation in the cycle of concerts of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) - "The Radio Soloists". There have been sound recordings made for the BNR recording fund for the works of the Bulgarian composers such as Pancho Vladigerov, Kiril Iliev, Lazarov Nikolov, Vasil Kazandzhiev, Martin Georgiev, Petar Kerkelov, and other famous composers such as D. Shostakovich, F. Schubert, H. Wolff, A. Schonberg, A. Webern, B. Bartok, O. Respighi. The Frosch participated in the festivals "Winter Music Evenings" - Rousse, "Ambul" - Sofia, "Sound and Connection" - Sofia, "Sofia Music Weeks" - Sofia, "March Music Days" - Rousse, "Chamber Music Days" - Gabrovo, "Apolonia" - Sozopol ","Ars Musica Festival"-Brussels, "Varna summer", "Winter Musical Evenings" Prof. Ivan Spasov"-Pazardzhik.
In April 2008 the quartet received second prize at the International Competition for Austrian Chamber Music - Sofia. In December 2008 won first prize at the Academic Competition for Chamber Music, dedicated to Marin Goleminov. The quartet is a laureate of the "Crystal Lyre"-2015 in the Chamber Ensembles category, and in 2018 it received the award for high artistic achievements in the name of M. Goleminov - "Golden Quartet". Frosh performs a number of Bulgarian and world premieres of works by George Krum, H. Guretsky, Jan Grossman, Osvaldo Golikhov, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Rumen Balozov, Alexander Radvilovich, Lyubomir Denev, Vasil Kazandzhiev, Georgi Arnaudov, Sunne Skowen, Peter Kerkelov, Martin Georgiev, V. Dikov, Dragomir Yosifov, Bozhidar Spasov, some of the works were specially written for the quartet.
Among the big projects of the quartet are a concert in Oslo Concert House, dedicated to Bulgarian and Norwegian contemporary music, as well as participation in the first edition of the festival "Musica Nordica"-Sofia. Frosh is also working on a sound recording of the integral of 4 string quartets by K. Iliev for BNR.
On 1.11.2017 Frosh had the honor of performing the opening concert of the joint program of BKI-Moscow and the museum "Tchaikovsky and Moscow - New Bulgarian Music". In the period January-June 2018, the quartet participated in the project of the Sofia Philharmonic "Music of Europe" with two concerts dedicated to the Czech Republic and Great Britain.
