Bulgarian Time Shelter wins BOOKER 2023 award

Georgi Gospodinov, author of the book ‘Time Shelter’ won the prize ‘International Booker 2023’. Its original version is written in Bulgarian, and translated into English by the famous translator Angela Rodel.

In the book, a ‘clinic for the past’ offers a promising treatment for Alzheimer’s sufferers: each floor reproduces a decade in minute detail, transporting patients back in time. But soon the past begins to invade the present.

Gospodinov was born in 7 January 1968, in the city Yambol. He continued his education for literature until he acquired Ph. D, worked as research staff in the Bulgarian Science Academy – Institute for Literature.
